Well this letter wont be very long so I apologize for all those that are die heart readers of my letters but I will try to talk alittle about the work here.
So this week we spent teaching a bunch of people and trying to help them understand the importance of baptism and getting them to commit to a date. But even though we have been working like horses, it seems like no one wants to accept the gospel and take the steps that are necessary to gain their salvation. In the mission it is really easy to lose that motive or desire to keep working when it seems like everyone and everything is crashing down on all sides. One might look at it and take off running in the other dirrection. There are others that look at it and decided that they will just keep doing what they have been and if the results are the same, who cares, but there are those that the Lords wants, those that look at it and do everything they possible can to do what the Lord wants them to do, despite the fact that there arent any results because they have the faith that the Lord will provide a way. So due to the fact that our area seems alittle like that, my comp and I are looking at it, squaring our shoulders and doing the work of the Lord.
"No pain that we suffer, no trial that we experience is wasted. It ministers to our education to the development of such qualities as patience, faith, fortitude, and humility. All that we suffer and all that we endure, especially when we endure it patiently, builds up our characters, purifies our hearts, expands our soul, and makes us more tender and charitable, more worthy to be called the children of God."
-Orson F. Whitney
It was meant to be that life would be a challenge. To suffer some anxiety, some depression, even some failure is normal. If you have a good, miserable day once in a while- or several in a row- stand steady and face them. Things will straighten out. There is great purpose in our struggle in life.
~ Boyd K. Packer
